Montreal en Lumiere

Now is the time of "en Lumiere" here in Montreal. It is annual festival and it celebrates winter by music, lights and gastronomy. This year the main theme is Argentina with its dance and food.

Montreal

The city seen from the Mont Royal on thursday afternoon. It was claudy and foggy and near snowing. There are many tall buildings in the city.

Chinatown

On friday evenings the city is full of life -- also here in Chinatown.

This day is better!

Today it seems to be the better day. Vehicles are there, where they should be.

At 14:45 same intersection

And now, there are already one car on the correct line (left down corner), but the others...

Wow!!!!

And now --- about half an hour later no one is on the correct line ---- impossible!!! How is this possible in the western country???

We got snow again

Again we have got the snow. I already hope the spring starting --- but not today. The temperature is still about -10 celsius. This city has been surprising cold! But some day it could be the summer!

Traffic in Montreal - awful!!

We have seen canadian trafic behavior in many place, but this - on the Rye de Bleury, opposite the

Palais des Congres de Montreal - it is awful. Almost all the time somebody is on the left line, with is for the opposite trafic. Today it was the top!!! It was impossible to come against -- it was full of opposite trafic - on the wrong side. Even in India or Thailand they are driving better!! Newer seen like that!!

Winter in Canada

Here it is salt everywhere on the wintertime. I don't like it at all. To my mind it should be better to mechanically remove the snow than by salt. Thats why also the cars seems like these!! Not so nice.

Near Sherbrook

The Sherbrook area have rivers, hills, forests, rapids and waterfalls. Landscapes are beautiful.

Countryside and river pictures from Quebec area

 The countryside near Montreal is guite flat. Water often are staying on fields.

 Now it has been quite cold and also the river has ice on it.

 The villages are often like this.

 Canadian summer cottage -- I thought first, but this is some kind of fishing hut, I think.

We had a nice holiday in Cuba. It's an island with old colonial style buildings and american cars of the 50's and also russian cars of the end of the last millennium. Worth of visiting!
